Ian Waudby-Smith is a Miller postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley where he is hosted in the Department of Statistics by Michael I. Jordan. Before joining UC Berkeley, he obtained his PhD in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University where he was advised by Aaditya Ramdas and was awarded the Umesh K. Gavaskar Best Dissertation Award. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo in Canada. His recent research interests include anytime-valid sequential inference, e-values, causal inference, concentration inequalities, and strong limit theorems.
